Robert Ivy, FAIA, holds a master of Architecture from Tulane University in 1976. He pursued a bachelor’s of art in English at University of the South. He also is a higher-ranking fellow of Design Future Council. Today, Robert Ivy is CEO and Executive Vice President of AIA (American Institute of Architects) based out of District of Columbia, Washington. He was named AIA’s CEO in 2011. United States plan to increase levies on aluminum and steel has not been welcomed by AIA. Carl Elefante, AIA President and Robert Ivy in a press statement stated the move would inflate the price of other building materials and tamper with the domestic design. Achievements. Alpha Rho Chi which supports national architecture named Robert Ivy as Master Architect in 2011.This is due to the fact that he has helped AIA attain its highest level of association in it over 150 years of operation and widened its global presence. He also was recognized by the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters to receive the Polk Award receiving Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award.
